4 Reasons People Become Obese

Absolute Fact: Obesity is on the rise. In fact, it is growing so rapidly that it is quickly becoming an epidemic. Every time we turn around there's some new fitness guru with a new fad diet that he/she guarantees will help people lose weight, but which usually doesn't, or if it does, it does not help people keep the weight off for good.

The best way to lose weight and stay healthy, both inside and out, is to avoid doing the things that make people obese. The following are the four most common people become obese. Memorize and learn from them and you'll be in a much better position to avoid them.

Reason People Become Obese #1: People Eat Bad Food

We live in a society that demands instant gratification, which is why people walk into the grocery store and buy foods that can be easily thawed in the microwave and eaten. These foods contain additives and preservatives that greatly increase the amount of calories you eat in a day. In addition, people at fast food too much. A general rule of thumb is that you should eat out no more than twice per month.

Reason People Become Obese #2: People Eat Too Much Food

Believe it or not, you can still eat healthy and be overweight. This is because food portions are out of control. If you want to lose weight and be healthy and attractive, try cutting back your portions by half. You'll find that half the amount of food you normally eat is also enough to satisfy your hunger.

Reason People Become Obese #3: People Don't Exercise

To be in just moderate shape a person should get at least 30 minutes of exercise three times per week. However, if you really want to have an attractive, sleek body, you should exercise at least five times per week and for one hour. And this one hour should be comprised of strenuous exercise.

Reason People Become Obese #4: People Eat at the Wrong Times

All too often we hear people talk about how they skip eating breakfast because they don't have time. Doing this essentially dooms a person to weight loss failure. It is imperative that if you want to lose weight you must eat first thing after getting out of bed. It kick starts your metabolism so that it can function properly through out the day. People should eat six small meals a day, rather than three big ones. This ensures that their metabolism continues to work all day and doesn't slow down. People should also avoid eating right before going to bed. To ingest calories and then go to sleep doesn't give you body any outlet in which to burn them off, which means they get turned to fat and accumulate in places on your body you don't want them to.

If you can avoid making these mistakes in your life then you're taking the first steps towards a healthy and attractive lifestyle. You're also taking charge and setting yourself apart for the rest of society, and there's always a great feeling when you stand out amongst the crowd.
